Tour Description:
Nordhavn is Copenhagen’s future sustainable city, with a rich maritime and industrial history of hardworking laborers who built the harbor and seamen who once sailed for the East Asiatic Company, which dominated this part of town. Many old warehouses, such as Pakhus 54 and Pakhus 47, have been refurbished and transformed into sustainable and atmospheric workshops and office spaces. You’ll also find fashionable apartments and many design shops in Nordhavn.

Green City – The Five-Minute City
Copenhagen’s Nordhavn is one of Northern Europe’s largest urban development projects, and it strongly reflects the five-minute city principles, such as mixed-use planning, sustainable mobility, and energy-efficient infrastructure.

From the beginning, Nordhavn has been planned as a green and energy-conscious district. Since 2013, By & Havn has been involved in adapting the German DGNB certification system to Danish conditions and planning practices. Part of Nordhavn was included as a pilot project and achieved the highest certification level, being pre-certified to DGNB Platinum.

We will see the exteriors of buildings such as Portland Towers, The Silo, the UN Headquarters, Kronløbsøen, Frihavnstårnet, Spidsen, and P-House Lüders. At Lüders Parking House, you’ll find some surprises — this is not your ordinary parking facility!

The guides will elaborate on the urban landscape and how city life is evolving in this part of Copenhagen, where people live right by the waterfront with promenades, harbor baths, and vibrant public spaces. Many leading architecture firms are also based here, including BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and COBE.

One of my new favorite buildings in the area is Spidsen by COBE Architects — where you can enjoy the winter garden, the beautiful elevated plateaus with stunning harbor views, and, of course, a great coffee spot.

Speaking of coffee — Andersen & Maillard, located between Göteborg Plads and Hamborg Plads, is a must-visit. And the size of their cinnamon rolls… well, you’re in for a treat!

See you there!
Best regards,
Mira
